Monolingual - save hard disk space by reducing unwanted language files

Monolingual is a program for removing unnecessary language resources from Mac OS X, in order to reclaim several hundred megabytes of disk space. It requires at least Mac OS X 10.3.9 (Panther) and also works on Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).

Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but DeLocalizer has always done the job for me. Since it only handles languages, there's no danger that it can screw up anything else.

i concur, flak. DeLocalizer works just fine and isn't a bulldozer.


I use a multi-clipboard. I've tried them all and keep coming back to the freeware PTHPasteboard. it handles anything i throw at it.

DeLocalizer has been updated to work with 10.2 ... has not been tested with 10.3 (from the developer page) ... that is a couple of system revisions/versions/kittens back – will it still work flawlessly with 10.5?

No problems here.

If you check Mike Bombich's forums, people confirm that it works. Turns out that it's only a script that finds and delete the individual localizations, based on their unique names...until Apple changes how they store localizations, it should keep on working.
