must be the different corporate culture or way of doing business...
I worked for a small publishing house in Vienna last summer (ok, it was more of an internship than a job – especially the salary ) and although we had a "flat" hierarchy and everybody, boss included was very relaxed to the outside and in business relations everything had to be very stiff... no jokes on business cards, very formal style in correspondance and on the phone and the like – so, yeah, very different corporate culture.
I study English as my main subject and Art history as my elective... worlds apart – so again huge difference in the academic culture :-)

The Germanic culture is very serious as well. Maybe serious is the wrong word, instead...formal, to the extreme!! In Austria or Germany it's just not done, period!
To be truly German though, you need to take several large words, remove the spaces between them and make ONEÜBERWORD that is more precise and all encompassing of his duties for his "Title"!
i think, if earlier typographers had thought it through clearly, they'd have co-opted something attractive, like a low-rider tilde to use for hyphenating.
the redesigned logo references the flat design of packaging 'net' and is probably a little less obvious than the original box design. i prefer the old one, personally. you should view the site to see it in it's full glory
[hide] i'll get round to jazzing this one up a bit at some point, too [/hide]
oh and Connecticut - yo dawg, I heard you liked hidden words in your states so we put a hidden word in your state so you can read a hidden word whilst you read your state name

rear of a business card, this guy is quite german (though, we did a serious card for him too - depending on who he was handing it to...)

BASIC IDEA
You send me your logo in vector format, I'll make a cheesy 3second animation of it for free.
GOAL
To produce an even cheesier "reel" full of cheesy logo animations.
WHY ?
The same reason as your existence.
...maybe we should send a fazyluckers logo in (maybe we should have a fazyluckers logo, ffs...)
the site is "closed to submissions". funny idea, though.
