Bring back (in the UK) the Higher National Diploma! And, get the part-time lecturers – working designers – who had the links with industry back into education…
That sounds a lot like my design edumacation!
Yes, I was on a pretty good course too, for external/visiting lecturers. We had people like Martin Parr, Nick Wapplinton and the like do a turn, it was great… if only they could have done a direct transfer of their talent or business acumen! 😆
Some of the contemporary courses though! I feel sorry for the students paying 9k and this year especially!
