The logo, designed by Peters Design Company, represents the natural landscape within the city featuring trees and water. While the new logo has a modern design, it has a timeless quality that was influenced by the city’s previous looks. It can also be used across a number of design platforms.
The updated look is part of the city’s strategic communication plan that was approved earlier this year. Through the new logo design, the city will be able to clearly and consistently promote Shoreview as a great place to live, work, and play, both now and into the future. Additionally, the new brand will make it easier for staff to develop effective communications across all city departments.

Opinion
With a number of small cities across the U.S. rejecting decent new logos in favor of shitty old logos, today we celebrate Shoreview, MN, for accepting and implementing a decent new logo to replace their shitty old logo. Sure, it was charming, but, man, it was terrible. The new logo is signature Peters Design Company with a lovely badge approach and a number of cool different elements working very well together. The tree drawings are great and they pair really well with the water waves. The “SHOREVIEW” type is nice but I’m not too crazy about the accompanying Gotham, especially the extra bold weight for “EST. 1957”. Still quite nice, especially when the logo drops the two rings and lives on its own and even more so when it’s in a single color. May this be the start of more small cities making the right decision.
