GF Smith launches bespoke book printing service
Paper company GF Smith has launched a bespoke printing service providing hand made hardback photo books.
Make Books are assembled by staff at the company's headquarters in Hull and are available in three sizes: A3, A4 and B5. Prices start at £100 and books can be between 20 and 100 pages.
Covers options include foil blocked, debossed or printed with lay-flat binding for images that run across the spine. Customers can create a book by using InDesign templates or downloading the company's Make Book software.

The launch follows the company's recent rebrand, with a new visual identity and website designed by Made Thought (you can read our blog post on it here).
The identity places greater emphasis on the hand-crafted aspects of GF Smith's work, with a new logo (one of two) that shows a hand turning a sheet of paper, and GF Smith says Make Book further underlines the company's "passion for tailor-made, creative print work."
GF Smith isn't the only company to offer a bespoke printing service, of course, but its Make Books are beautifully produced. The range of finishes and colour options should make it popular with anyone looking for a high quality album or portfolio, and it's a great way of showcasing the company's stock and emphasis on craft.
