f.lux - combat bright display induced insomnia

F.lux ... makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day.

It's even possible that you're staying up too late because of your computer. You could use f.lux because it makes you sleep better.

Sounds pretty good, if it actually works (lots of people claim that it does actually help).

    i claim it does.

i've been using it for about 6 months. i don't even notice the light changing, but when i turn f.lux off, it really smacks my eyes.

i don't know if it helps me sleep better, but my eyes are less tired at the end of a long computer session in the evenings.

Isn't that what the ambient light sensor in macbook's is intended to do?

    i dunoo, don't have a macbook :D

my car's dash does it though, so it makes it easier to sleep when driving at night. or something.

it wouldn't come with a pop-out pint holder if that wasn't meant to be the case ;)
