Ive often thought of this same problem never found anything yet. Im using avast anti virus they have a free version which you can trial for 30 days or something then you register and get a free code for a years use.

    Good luck

kaspersky security suite has little snitch like ability, although it's more heavyweight and it's not free. I use it for my pc's - good software.

AVG Free should be your first port of call for good, free, Windows anti-virus

    next question:

what works when lil' snitch isn't enough?

many apps are making (my term) blind calls directly to a browser these days.

my solution, so far, is to have a user that has no permission for any internet connection. it's effective, but awkward.
