Save voicemail to audio file...

I have a voicemail I'd like to save to a digital format before it's sucked into the vacuum of my mobile carrier.

Using whatever software, is their some method which might work... ? I was thinking of looking into getting some Skype minutes and dialing my phone number, activating the voicemail, and record the whole thing... but, this seems really convoluted.

    I did it once by playing the recorded message and holding a small microphone in front of the answering machine and recording it into my iMac as a digital file. Can't remember which app I used, but there are quite a number out there.

    If it's on a mobile phone, you should be able to just hold it up to the built in mike and do it that way.

    Not the highest of tech, but might suffice.
