Ram for my Powerbook G4?

edited February 2007 in advice
So I was looking at upgrading my ram on my Powerbook G4 and I was reading this page...

http://www.dvwarehouse.com/1GB-PC2700-SODIMM-p-23707.html

One statement says I can have a total of 2GB of ram. But then the next flow chart says I cannot remove the 256 ram and I can only have 1.25GB of ram?

I have a 1Ghz 15" Aluminum G4 Powerbook. Can I have 2GB or 1.25 GB?

Also, is this ram non-transferable to the new powerbooks?

Thanks!

There's two RAM slots, and both chips are removable. The RAM is PC2700 DDR RAM SO-DIMM, and you need to be careful on this as faster chips are not always speed compatible to a lower speed.

How new are you talking? It is compatible to some slightly newer powerbook G4s, but there's no way to get a chip for this PB that will work on anything currently shipping.
