that's visually jarring. i think i like it.

there were a couple of other, similar cars posted earlier in the thread somewhere, and i just want to say that it totally reminds me of blade runner (that's a film, mick )
i don't really know why it reminded me of that, of course. maybe it was that it reminded of the previous 'oldie/future' cars, and one of them reminded me of it, or something. anyway, cool like a chocolate sundae.
Here is a retro inspired BMW concept that I haveandreas has been working on lately.
The idea was to make a modern take on the early formula 1 cars from the 1950s. I also wanted to adapt this concept to an existing brand, which in this case became BMW.
2011 BAC MONO (Briggs Automotive Company; Mono as in monoposto, or one seat), boasts a better power-to-weight ratio than a Bugatti Veyron, as well it should with such an unappealing name. Levity aside, the MONO is a the product of the Briggs’ brothers engineering prowess and some very impressive parts. A Cosworth-sourced engine produces 280bhp, which gets the one-seater to 60mph in an unbelievable 2.8 seconds. The naturally aspirated 2.3 liter unit is mated to a six speed sequential Hewland transmission with paddle shifting. Other premium parts include Sach adjustable dampers, AP Racing brakes, and bespoke OZ wheels with Kumho rubber.

Force Dynamics 401cr test drive. i really want one of these. all donations are welcome, just need to get up to around the $100k mark, and i'll be set. everyone who donates $10 or more can come on over and have a go on it, i promise (i should make a kickstarter project for this, right ).
Two cars hitting each other at 60mph surely, rather than 120mph each... plus cars are a lot less stiff than a concrete block, so the damage wouldn't be as severe. What a pointless and misleading test.
a car moving at 120 has four times as much kinetic energy as a car moving at 60. two cars moving at 60 have twice as much as one car at 60, but the destruction from this energy is going to be distributed between the two cars. the car moving at 120 is going to get almost all the kinetic energy, with only a bit applied to the wall.

I know you're not being too serious...
Yes, that's what I learnt at school, two cars at 60 hitting each other would be like on hitting a stationary object at twice, etc... it makes a point but I doubt that's their motive - viewing figures maybe?! Though, considering people were passing me on the motorway yesterday, and I wasn't sticking to the speed limit at the time, you could quite easily imagine two cars hitting each other in excess of that?

woah. 27.9-litre Detroit Diesel V24, the addition of 12 (yes, 12) 8-71 superchargers and nitrous injection. The result? 3424hp.
